Going over to the Dark Side

I am a book person. I like the tactile feeling of a "real" book. I despise reading books or PDFs on a computer screen and have been adamant that I would never get an e-reader.

But lately I have been spending a lot of time in waiting rooms, or sitting in the car waiting instead of trailing others around Walmart.  The magazines in the waiting rooms are either nothing I am interested in, or several years out of date. And lugging a heavy book around or have it rattle around the backseat, is not ideal. Besides, if it is a library book, I would not like to lose it.

But lately I have been researching e-readers and small tablets online. Something that can get tossed in my purse  and that I can use for other things, such as keeping track of appointments and maybe playing a round or two of Angry Birds.

I could download ebooks for free from our local library, and even get up-to-date issues of most magazines. Wi-Fi would be a must.

I have been noticing that I can get one for around $100... not breaking the bank.

But I still have this feeling I am crossing over to the dark side...
